The PAJC sponsors weekling outings to paint at different central New Jersey sites. These outings occur on Monday mornings and are open to members and non-members.
Starting in September 2011, one member will be designated as the site contact for each painting site. This is the go-to person for answering questions, solving problems, and conducting a critique. Our goal is to allow all other painters to work with minimal interruption and spread this "site mentoring” role across different members over time.
Each outing follows the same pattern. At a new site, the group meets with the site contact for 5-10 minutes to get news, understand the layout of the site, and share ideas. Artists then go off in different directions to paint. Normally, the group meets at the same site on the following Monday and follows the same pattern: a quick startup meeting and then painting. On the 2nd Monday, the group meets again at the end of the morning’s painting for a half-hour show and tell, with an optional critique.
Starting in December 2011, we have two types of outings: our traditional Monday morning painting session and the new weekend afternoon painting session. The weekend sessions are scheduled for once a month.
